What Causes Vomiting While Sleeping?

Last night, I had a dream that I vomited, and then I instantly woke up to find I had vomited in my sleep. Which caused which? And if I dreamt I was being sick because I actually was being sick, should I be worried about this? Nothing like this has ever happed before. I ate quite a large meal about an hour an a half before bed, but it wasn't excessively large and was all healthy food.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The vomiting is partly in concern with underlying sickness and partly with gastritis induced by large meal before bedtime.

Primary tips at present are:
- Take small amount liquids in sessions.
- Avoid large meals; instead go for organic fresh fruits, homemade juices.
- Prescription of anti-emetic and PPI with your family doctor, to be taken on empty stomach with sips of water 2 times a day.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
