What Causes Vomiting Up Of White Foam Along With Nausea In A Child?

My 7 year old daughter has been nauseous since she woke up. When she got home from school she said it lasted all day and she does not feel well. Once home she took a nap and got up to vomit but it was just white foam. She is sneezing occasionally and no fever yet. She is very weak and it not herself and has not eaten or drank anything since lunch at school

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

The symptoms seem to be related to a stomach flu.
Sometimes after coughing the child throws up foam and phlegm which can be because of the accumulation of the mucus in the throat.
I suggest to give her liquids and rest.
You can give babies medications like ibuprofen and acetaminophen. Ask your pediatrician about the exact dosage depending on the weight of the child.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
