What Causes Vomiting In A Child?

my 1 year old son started throwing up yesterday out of the blue. he is not sick no cough, no fever nothing he threw up in once in the morning, afternoon, then at night then the next day hes normal again as if nothing happened...but then that night my 4 year old son woke up from a nap happy and smiling then started throwing up again like my 1 year old with no fever and he is not sick...so what does this mean? we all eat the same food and snacks...but this all started when we got our new puppy, could that have something to do with this????

Pediatric Hemato-Oncologist 's  Response
Hi,

This is generally caused by some viral gastritis that very commonly affects younger children. Just watch out for any signs of diarrhea that generally begins with vomiting as the first manifestation. Maintain hydration. Don't forget to consult your pediatrician if vomiting persists beyond or if the child looks sick or any other manifestation develops.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Amit Kumar, Pediatrician
