What Causes Vomiting, Diarrhea And Flatulence In An Infant?

My 20 month old daughter woke up at 4:00 am this morning vomiting. She vomited again at 5:00 am and then about every 15-30 after that until 7:45am. She then started having small to medium amounts of foul smelling, mucousy stools. 4 total in about 2 hours. We have been giving her 50/50 water Gatorade mix. She has kept that down for the last 7 hours. It is now 2:40pm. No more stools at this point just foul smelling farts. She is drinking still and kept a half piece of toast down for 40 minutes. Just started to run low grade fever of 99.4. Should she be seen by a doctor or is this just a stomach bug that needs to run it s course?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be due to indigestion.

We have to rule out other possibilities like gastroenteritis also.

As of now you can take carminative drops for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persists better to consult a paediatrician and start on antibiotics.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
