Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My mother is 54 years old. Since last 10-12 years, she erratically gets sick for couple of days in 3-4 months. During this time she starts vomiting and have severe weakness. Other than that she is perfectly fine. There are no symptoms of diabetes, heart or BP related problems. Apart from vomiting during few days, she has one more problem that she has frequent urine tendency. We have consulted many doctors but none of the medicines helped her. Please suggest?
Vomit is a non specific symptom from multiples possibilities. It can be related to chronic reflux ,gastritis, gallbladder disease, renal disorder, electrolytes imbalances, etc. The weakness is due to the electrolyte imbalance when vomit, as low potassium and chloride and sodium. The urine frequency also can make her eliminate electrolytes as sodium, chloride and potassium which makes her weaker. Treatment will be to keep good hydration and complete workup to identify the cause.
