What Causes Vomiting After A Deep Tissue Massage?

My husband had a deep tissue massage yesterday and cupping. He has a history of kidney stones but hasn t had an attack for a couple of years now. Is it possible the therapist could have triggered the start of a kidney stone attack or nursed the kidney? My husband has thrown up most of the day. Threw up twice after trying to take Tylenol 3 for the pain. It hasn t gotten worse but has been off and on today. Should we go to a hospital?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It might be due to renal stone and not related to massage.

He can consider antiemetic like Domperidone for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult a urologist and plan for an ultrasound scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
