What Causes Visual Impairment After A Cataract Surgery?

I have amd and had cataract surgery 3 years ago, My friend has the same vision diagnosis and recently had he yag procedure done, now she is legally blind in that eye. I don t need the yag procedure now but have great concerns if I needs that done, I was disgnosed at age 38 with amd and now I am 74. I am worried.. thank you sarah

Diagnosis of AMD at an age of 38 is unlikely.

YAG laser is required if significant posterior capsule opacification hampers vision .
post yag caosulotomy there is risk of progression of wet ARMD .

Though you and your friend both have same diagnosis of AMD but not neccary the extent of leisons are same.also progression of disease vary in each case and depends on type of AMD (wet or dry)

so you need not worry
have periodic eye check ups for AMD
