What Causes Vibrating Sensation After Having Inguinal Hernia Surgery?

I had inguinal hernia surgery 4 months ago and it was very painful afterwards. The pain is better now the doctor said the nerve was having issues. A few days ago I started feeling vibrations just below the mesh site. No pain and it just pulses a few seconds and stops. Is this normal or should I go back to my surgeon?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Vibration sensation below the site of surgical incision is most probably due to injury to the nerve supplying the skin around the region.
Most of the nerve injuries heal spontaneously in few weeks.
So, you can wait for healing of the nerve supplying the region.
However, a consultation with your surgeon for clinical assessment is required.
In case the vibration sensation is due to some other cause, that can be dealt accordingly.

Thanks and take care
