What Causes Very Long And Heavy Bleeding During Periods?
My period are irregular but when I do get them they don t stop they just keep going on and on I finally get some medicine to stop the bleeding but then when I get my period again it s back to the same thing. I have tried all sorts of medicine and sometimes they don t work it s been over 3 weeks now and I bleed very heavy and I do t know what to do and why don t they stop
You don't mention you age in your query. Anyway, long and heavy bleeding during periods would be a reason for having an appointment to your gynecologist. Sometimes it's just a hormonal issue, but sometimes leiomyomas may be the reason for that irregular bleeding. So you have to go through an uterine ultrasound and check your womb and ovaries, so you will find out the cause. Then it can be treated properly by your gynecologist.
If this answers your query i would appreciate if you mark it as helpful. Kind regards! Dr Eriol.
