Hello and welcome to HCM!

You don't mention you age in your query. Anyway, long and heavy bleeding during periods would be a reason for having an appointment to your gynecologist. Sometimes it's just a hormonal issue, but sometimes leiomyomas may be the reason for that irregular bleeding. So you have to go through an uterine ultrasound and check your womb and ovaries, so you will find out the cause. Then it can be treated properly by your gynecologist.

If this answers your query i would appreciate if you mark it as helpful.
Kind regards!
Dr Eriol.
