What Causes Vaginal Spotting Long After Taking Plan B?
Hi! June 18th me and my boyfriend had sex and the condom broke, though he did not finish and we stopped once we found out. Still, I got Plan B about an hour later. I got my period 3 weeks later on July 4th, but its just brown and pink spotting. Hardly enough to fill a tampon in 1 day. Still bleeding July 5th but nothing has changed. Though no other symptoms but mild cramping the day I got it. I took a pregnancy test today and it came back negative. I was going to take a few more this week and next week. (It is hard for me to tell when to take a test because I have irregular periods.) Could the spotting be a side effect of Plan B? (Even though it was 3 weeks before i started bleeding?)
Slight menstrual irregularities and spotting can happen with hormonal pills like Plan-B. It is quite common and does not indicates any active disease conditions. In most cases, it will settle by itself without much complications. If symptoms persist better to consult a gynecologist and get evaluated.
