What Causes Vaginal Spotting Along With Abdominal Cramps Before Menstruation?

I recently had protected sexual intercourse and a week after i had my menstrual cycle all was normal it was a regular period with cramps then a week after i had spotting it was a brownish discahrge with no smell and i dont know what is i had that for an entire week and now im suppose to have my menstrual cycle again and i have spotting but its really light im sure its not blood and i dont have cramps i am almost sure thos isnt my period i already took a pregnancy test and it came out negative i have no idea what this might be

Irregular bleeding is usually due to irregular menstrual cycles.
A negative pregnancy test rules out pregnancy.
Irregular menstrual cycle is usually due to hormonal imbalance.
Observe your menstrual cycles and monitor the date and duration of bleeding.
Irregular bleeding for longer period of time needs to be investigated since it can be due to underlying hormonal imbalance.
