What Causes Vaginal Spotting After Intercourse?

I had my period lasted 3 days, heavier than normal with not much clotting. Stopped my period for two days, had sex the first day after my period, no bleeding, had sex last night no bleeding. But I did today afterwards there was bright red blood with a single brownish/black clot. I also have fatigue & slight cramps. What could this mean ?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

As a physician I would like to tell you that clotted or black blood can happen after period during sex. But a bright red fresh blood is a cause of concern. I would advise that if you experience it again, you should get evaluated by a MD Ob/gy doctor as there could be a polyp or laceration in your vaginal canal giving rise to this condition.

Thanks for trusting and posting your query on this forum. Hope this will help you. Feel free to ask any further question.

Have a nice day.

Regards,
Dr. Abhijeet
