What Causes Vaginal Itching And Foul Vaginal Odour?

Last week, I had vaginal itching, burning, and a foul smell. I ve had these symptoms before and have went to the doctor and he said I had vaginitis. He said the next time these symptoms occur to take something over the counter such as monistat etc.. he had given me an antibiotic to treat it that day. Well this was last year and now the symptoms have returned. I started monistat 7-day, 3 days ago and the first two days were fine. Until yesterday night, and noticed I started spotting. And today it has gotten heavier along with some nausea and lower back pain. Do I need to go to my OBGYN or is it serious?

Hi, I think you should consult a gynecologist for complete examination. Get a pelvic examination done to rule out any cervical pathology or infections. You may need some antibiotic and antifungal drugs orally as well as vaginal to treat infection. If any cervical pathology is there, it needs to be treated. Get a paps smear done to see if there is any infection or other pathology. Hope it helps.
