What Causes Vaginal Bleeding On Intake Of I Pill Post Unprotected Sex?

Hello, I had a sex with my girl friend on July 2 3 4 and then again 15 & 16 without any precaution but i have not discharged inside vagina(She had period on July 8th). On 16th I have gave her I-pill since i had doubt on sperm leakage. On August first week she had once bleeding but it is not normal as period. Now we have doubt whether she is pregnant ? Can you please suggest how to check pregnancy and what are the options for abortion. Regards, Yogish

Hello, Thanks for writing to HCM.
The emergency pill can cause alteration of the timing and amount of bleeding in the periods as a side effect.
However from the details given, you have had unprotected intercourse and a pregnancy must be ruled out.
Rather than doing a home pregnancy test, in your case I would suggest you both to please consult a gynecologist at the earliest who can test for pregnancy and guide you further depending on the results. He/she can also suggest a safer and effective form of birth control.
All the best.
