What Causes Vaginal Bleeding During Pregnancy?

Hello I am five weeks pregnant. the problem that i m facing is that from the past six days i m bleeding and i got my ultrasound done which is alright.. Shows that internal os is closed cervical length normal gestational sac 16 mm and yolk sac seen even hcg level is 3200. The doctor prescribed me three medicines.. Etosys for stopping bleeding,nidogen for progestrone and ceftas which is for treating infection. But themild bleeding which almost fills one pad per day is just not stopping.During this time.. I even had a black brown mucus kind of discharge twice and the doctor says ..it must be old blood bcz after that day also i got another u/s which was alright.. So she says the bleeding is happening externally. What is that suppposed to mean

As the ultrasound has excluded uterine bleed, the cause of vaginal bleed can be considered associated with vaginal infection or else.

I would recommend to discuss the need of vaginal swab test with your family doctor.
