What Causes Vagina Swelling, Itching And Burning Sensation?

I had trich, I got treated and took the medication last Monday. Well I got re tested for it and it was negative. Now a week later I m still having symptoms of trich but my ob says I don t have it. Is this normal? My vagina is so swollen I can t sit or close my legs. I m having to lay down on my back. I can t even sleep because of the swelling. I ve taken advil, will that help? We don t have anything to use for an icepack, so that s out of the question right now. What can I do to relieve myself from the itching, burning and swelling since my on won t see me again because my test was negative?

HI, thanks for using healthcare

You may need to consider getting tested for other STIs to see if one is present and need treatment

The use of the advil is fine, you can continue this medication, it has an anti inflammatory properties so should help reduce swelling.

An oral anti histamine such as benadry, claritine , zyrtec or allegra, can be used to decrease the itching. It may also help with the swelling.

If possible, you should also try a sitz bath. Sitting in warm water with salt or epsom salt, would also be helpful. It can be done 2 to 4 times a day

I hope this helps
