What Causes Urinary Retention While On Metoprolol And Losartan?

I have been on Metropolol and Lozaratan for hypertension. Now I am experiencing bladder retention and difficulty in emptying my bladder. In December I came down with shingles and everything has compounded. Iam 69 years old and even experienced vaginal bleeding. Urologist found no tumors, Gynecologist found cyst and fibroid. Had DNC to drain cyst. bleeding has stopped.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

For urinary retention, urinary tract infection should be ruled out by urine routine microscopic examination. If any spinal trauma or spinal disease history present then rule out neurogenic bladder. If no cause identified then urodynemic flow study can be done.
Kindly mention how much urine retained in bladder as post voidal ultrasonography report. I suggest you consult Urologist for examination.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
