What Causes Twitching Sensation In Mouth Radiating Towards Left Head?

yes, my son has started to twitch he s mouth he twitches to the left and then he twitches his head to the left and he s been doing this for I don t know but I started to notice it today. He is 9 years old and he s in good shape and he s voice has not changed. do i need to take him in to see his doctor

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern.

Thanks for your concern . The symptoms you mention in query are pointing towards condition known as 'BELL'S PALSY ' . There are many factor that can cause bell's palsy , but the most common factor is viral infection.

There are certain trigger factors also like stress ant viral infection or trauma. Usually bell' palsy will go away by its own in few days .

I would suggest you to :-

- To start facial muscle exercise .

- Start physical therapy of face .

- Take ibuprofen (if not allergic) or acetamnophen for pain and discomfort.

If condition doesn't get better in 10 days then consult dentist or oral surgeon . Doctor may artificial tears (METHYL CELLULOSE ) , prednison or anti viral drug (VALACYCLOVIR OR ACYCLOVIR)
