What Causes Twitching In Muscles Post Injecting Corticosteroid In Lower Back?

After having my first corticosteroid injections in my lower back, I began experiencing random muscle twitching through out my body, especially my hands. I could not write or text without difficulty. I started taking a vitamin B complex for energy and the twitching ceased. But returned if I missed a day. What could be going on?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The muscle twitching is not commonly related to the use of cortico-steroid injections. It is more commonly related to an electrolyte dis-balance. So, I suggest to check the electrolyte level for further evaluation.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
