What Causes Twitching And Pain Around The Eye While On BP Medication?

Hi, I am a 61 year old male in good health, slightly overweight but go to gym 3 times a week. I take blood pressure and cholesterol medication. I had a twitching eye for about 2 weeks. On Saturday I had a very sharp pain for a short period of time under/around my eye, and now the twitching has stopped. However, I am concerned this may be related to something more serious.

Involuntary movement of the eyelids for a short period with spontaneous resolution is most likely benign and commonly occurs due to myokymia associated with fatigue, stress, lack of sleep, excessive working on computer screen, sometimes after excessive coffee (>4 cups /day) etc. As it appears self-limited, it is of little clinical consequence. However ,if it recurs ,one may think of possibility of Multiple sclerosis(MS),as eyelid myokymia may rarely precede MS.
