Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can t see my doctor until next tuesday and haven t poo d for almost 4 days now. I don t have any pain and feel fine. I am a little worried because the last time I went to the toilet it was with cramps and I had two massive involuntary strains and it was thick diarrhea. After the second cramp/strain I felt down around that area and it felt like there was a small bulge and so I really tried to relax everything. I did poo once the following morning which was one small soft mass followed by more diarrhea. For the following 3 day s i basically stopped eating for fear of damaging somthing. restricting myself to water and vitamins which may have something to do with the lack of poo. I have had Diverticulitus in the past and didn t want it to flare up so yesterday i put myself back on a low fibre diet in case that has something to do with it although as I say no pain but still no poo. Afraid to eat high fibre incase i start backing up to much if anything is impacted. more importantly can I go another 5 days without pooing and still eat regularly??? That would be a 9 day poo free period before I could see my doctor. On the bright side plenty of gas.
