I m 49 years old and had undergone a partial hysterectomy surgery last year due to enlarged fibroma. I also suffer from hypothyroidism for the past 15 years and am taking Synthroid to regulate my condition. For the past couple of months, I seem to develop many of the symptoms of hyperthyroidism (e.g., tremors, rapid and irregular heart beats, insomnia, dry skin and hives...among many others). Last month, my family doctor asked me to stop taking the Synthroid because my TSH level was too high. I have reduced the dosage from 0.112 mg to 0.88mg then 0.75mg before stopping. Could my condition be due to the hysterectomy or is it due to other causes ? I have an appointment with my doctor soon. What questions should I ask her concerning my condition ? By the way, my mom had her some of thyroid glands removed; then, a few years later she had to undergo a radioactive treatment due to recurring hyperthyroidism. Thanks for your answer to my questions.
