What Causes Tremors In The Arms While On Lorazepam And Apraxia?
My name is Karen Stewart. I am a 68 yr Bold female who has had many different health issues. When I was 16mos old I had polio in my left leg and right arm. God saw fit to touch me and I was completely healed when 7 drs. in Lexington, Ky told my parents there was nothing they could do. Over the years I have had some issues I had pneumonia a couple of times Epstein Barr, Breast Cancer, and to me the worst of all Blepharospasms of my eyes, with apraxia. I have been taking Lorazepam 1/2 mg 4x a day, and Tramadol HCL50 mg 2x a day for spasms in my eyes. After taking these drugs I have started having tremors in my left arm. Sometimes my left arm goes around like a chicken with it s head cut off. I also have tremors in both hands. I have talked to 3 Drs 2 said I did not have Parkinson s and my family dr had me walk in his hall and he told his medical assistant that he thought I had Parkinson s. I don t know what to do. Hope you can give me some insight. Thank you

Sorry to hear about your illnesses but I am happy for the courage you have shown against all the odds. To be honest, diagnosis of Parkinson's disease is many times a difficult job , if you have problems with gait or doing things along with tremors the possibility of Parkinson's cannot be ruled out. About the arm you said I wonder if it could be Parkinson's disease plus syndrome (corticobasal degenaration)? Which is a very close thing to Parkinson's disease, however that have many more symptoms like body stiffness, gait problems, inability to do things easily ,etc. What is important is that in such cases we always ask a patient to see a neurologist that could assess you in detail and sort out if this could be Parkinson's disease or not , he would also see if what could be the cause if this is not Parkison's disease.
