What Causes Tremors And Chronic Itching All Over The Body?

Hi, My name is Tommy and I need some help for my dad. I ve brought him to the hospital twice this month and his doctor is becoming less and less reliable. He is an 82 year old veteran. He recently gained a lot of weight, he now weighs over 250 lbs and he s only 5 10 now. He has been a heavy drinker most of his life. But he s trying to quit but the withdrawal is becoming too much so he has been drinking just enough not to get sick but he still is throwing up almost everything he eats and throughout the day. Two years ago he suffered an aneurysm but hasn t had bad effects until now. Something is wrong though. His eyes are always burning, he s constantly shaking and trembling, he s scratching his scalp, upper body and groin excessively, to the point of leaving marks and bleeding a little. He s having a hard time remembering things, both short and long term. It has been getting worse and worse over the past two months. He has really bad anxiety now. I m sure his bp is high. He has afib as well. He can barely walk from the bed to the bathroom. His feet and calfs are really swollen. But his dr still hasn t gotten his medicine to him. He takes furosemide, metroprolol, Dilantin which he was just switched to from Kepra because the ER doctor said it would be better for my dad than the Kepra because he drinks alcohol. The VA here in Vegas is just not giving him the right help. I don t know what to do. What are your thoughts other than going to the er?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You can take Doxycycline cap twice a day for 5 days. You can take tab ldio 1 twice a day for 5 days. You can take Ranitidine tab twice a day for 5 days. Bath with Dettol soap. Apply Calamine lotion on the affected part, if not resolved then consult your dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
