What Causes Too Much Of Fluid In The Brain?

hey i am 17 i have a vp shunt because of too much fluid in the brain i had it placed when i was 15 i get shots in the back of my brain every 6 months my last shot was 2 months ago and sunday i started to get very weak,tired,nauseated,and all of a sudden got lightheaded i also started to get blurry vision and a little double every know and then so i went to the doctor he took my blood pressure it was 158/90 so he told me to make sure i take all my medicines and he told me i looked pale and told me i probably have a virus and sent me home my medicines are hctz propanal topamax at first i thought it was stress and not eating enough if been on a diet for 8 months but i eat 3 meals a day and a snack never try to skip meals but this feeling of being tired and sleepy it just want go away so can you help me please

Hello,

It may be a viral infection and you should be treated for it. But, also shunt malfunction should be considered. It is necessary to see your Neurosurgeon for this. Also, a brain MRI may be necessary.
