What Causes Tonsil Stones Despite Being Dietconscious?
Hi, I have been getting tonsil stones ( and having general tonsil issues) for most of my life. I know that cutting things like dairy, alcohol and fizzy drinks is important, as well as staying hydrated. However I am now vegan and have been for nearly a year and I m having tonsil issues again. As a vegan I do not consume dairy (or any animal product) and I have never cared for alcohol or fizzy drinks. And since I am vegan (eating many fruits and vegetables on top of drinking water regularly) I am very hydrated, I pee very often always light yellow to clear. So why am I still having tonsil issues???
Some people have crypts in tonsils and thus food particles get accumulated there and form stones. I will advice you to gargle after each meal. This will help to clean and food particle remaining and hence decrease stone formation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Loveleen Sharma, General & Family Physician
