What Causes To Undergo An Open Heart Surgery At The Age Of 19?

Hi, i am 19 years of age, i had open heart surgery as i was 3 months premature, i grew up with what seemed too feel like nipping in my chest i followed it up with my GP and he said it was trapped nerves from where they operated, i didn t really have much bother with it till last year when i was resting one evening when what felt like my heart suddenly stopped, i contacted my doctor and he said they were heart palpitations are they are normal but recently i have been getting them more recently for longer and my heart rate seems too be higher between 120-130 bpm, is this is sign of something serious as i had my open heart surgery or is this just me being anxious? Thanks

Hi, thank you for asking Healthcare magic.
I have gone through your query and understood your concerns. It is true that anxiety can increase the heart rate. Given that you have a history of heart surgery and that these high heart rates have been happening more frequently and for a longer duration, I think there could be a problem with the heart. I would suggest you see a cardiologist for proper assessment and management.

I hope that helps
I wish you well
