What Causes Tinnitus And Involuntary Eye Movements?

If a patient is receiving Tobramycing , 80mg, Iv every 8 hrs, and he speaks loudly, complaining that his ears are ringing, He displays an ataxic gait, and he has involuntary movements of his eyes. Should I stop it right away, and then call the physician, or should I call the physician first and wait for orders. Im an RN.

Tobramycin is an Aminoglycoside antibiotic, which causes ototoxicity and nephrotoxicity. As you have started ototoxicity, you should consult right away.
