What Causes Tinnitus And Ear Pain After Swimming?

I started having this problem on a Tuesday, the last time I went swimming was last Saturday but I never get any problems with my ears. My left ear feels like it s underwater and I can hear my voice repeat inside and when it is very quiet I can here it ringing. It is now Friday and went to the doctor on Wednesday to get it examined and they rinsed it out and got a lot or ear wax out. After the bubbling went away from the hydrogen peroxide, it felt normal for about 10 minutes and slowly came back. I am not sure what to do, I only get a slight pain when I burp witch I find very strange. PLEASE HELP!!!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello,
i can understand your problem.
since the water has entered your ear, the wax swell up.
this can lead to very sharp pain and ringing in the ears.
since the wax has been removed the pain would subside slowly on its own.this sometimes take time so donot worry.
the eustachian tube might have been blocked due to the water,
i would suggest this exercise. pinch the nose and try to blow. this would lead to opening up of the tube which would relieve you of the symptoms.
in case the pain is unbearable you can take an anti inflammatory medication like aceclofenac for the same.
do get back to us for further queries.
thanks for choosing HCM
