What Causes Tingling Sensation In The Hands While Sleeping?
I am experiencing a tingling sensation in my hands similar to as if they are asleep or not getting circulation. this occurs most of the time during my sleep and is painful enough that it wakes me up. Sometimes it lasts for over an hour the tingling sensation is not excruciatingly painful but ad enough that it a similar sensation although not as severe several times throughout the day also.
Very likely the numbness on your hands when you sleep is related to a nerve being pinched while it comes out of the spine at the neck area. You may need to do an x-ray of the neck and also some physiotherapy might be helpful to help with the symptoms as it may help release the affected nerve.
I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
