What Causes Tingling Sensation In The Hands And Feet After Taking Doxycycline?

I am in Roatan, Honduras, my doctor prescribed me Doxy-cycline. I am starting to have tingling in my hands and feet, and am urinating so often with not much coming out but the urgency is so that I feel as if I m losing my bladder control. I am still here for another week. What should I do?

Hello,

What is your doctor prescribe doxycycline for? Do you have pain with urination? Any Fever? any suprapubic pain?

Doxycycline is an antibiotic belonging to the group of tetracyclines. It is active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.

Doxycycline indicated for infection of the respiratory tract, infection of the urogenital tract, infection of the skin and soft tissues, infection of the gastrointestinal tract and eye infection in particular trachoma, Lymes's disease and other.

Your symptom of urinating problem before taking Doxycycline or after Doxycycline? Your symptom is sound like you has Urinary Tract infection and they give you doxycycline for Urinary Tract Infection.

Tingling in the hands and feet can be caused by Doxycycline. We called Parasthesia which is defined as an abnormal sensation, such as burning, pricking, tickling, or tingling. Parasthesias are one of the more general groupings of nerve disorders known as neuropathies.

But it is so fewer case whos are experienced like this symptom.

You may try to hold Doxycycline and use another antibiotic instead to see if it cause from doxycycline. If you have UTI, you need to do your urine culture to see what antibiotic is sensitive to your infection.

You should go to see your home doctor see what is the real problem you have. Tingling on feet and hands can be many other problems.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
