What Causes Tingling Sensation At The Back Of The Leg After A Ankle Sprain?

Hi. I sprung my ankle Saturday. I ve been keeping it elevated and soaking it in warm water and Epsom salt and the swelling is almost gone. However I have been experiencing a tingling sensation up the back of my keg...mainly from my knew up to my buttock. Could this be related... I do have a customer service job which means I sit most the day. Wanted to know if there was any relation to my ankle though.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The pain as prescribed in the query is probably related to sciatica pain. I suggest using a painkiller such as Ibuprofen 400 mg thre times a day. I also suggest gentle stretching exercises. If the symptoms continue, consult a neurologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,

Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
