What Causes Tingling Pain In Hands And Swollen Lump In Wrist?
my boyfriend has these symptoms. he is in a lot of pain. his hand at first would feel like it was asleep. now its to the point where he crys out in pain. it still has a tingling asleep feeling but the pain shoots down his middle finger and that s when he crys out. he thinks its carpal tunnel. im scared it could be a blood clot. there is a lump in his wrist and it is swollen.
Hello and welcome to HCM, The symptoms of pain shooting down the finger, tingling sensation and lump in the wrist are most probably due to compression or impingement of nerve in the wrist. Carpal tunnel syndrome is one of the causes of nerve impingement. However, for exact diagnosis, a clinical assessment is required. I suggest you to consult an orthopedician for clinical assessment to look for the level of impingement. Imaging studies like MRI may be required to assess the status of wrist joint. Further management depends on the cause of compression.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
