What Causes Tingling In Feet And Hands When Diagnosed With Diabetes?

I am newly diagnosed with diabetes. Lately, I have had a tingling, like my feet and hands are going to sleep. I really experienced it alot today along with total body weakness and my eyes hurt. I thought I just had not gotten enough sleep, but the weakness continues and so does the tingling. Should I see a doctor?

Hello,

I think that tingling could be related with periferic neuropathy that could happen as a complication of diabetes. I suggest to meet a neurologist to define better the diagnosis.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Monika Dede, Infectious Diseases Specialist
