What Causes Tingling And Itching Feeling In Lips And Black Discoloration?

Hi, Over the last three months, my lips have gotten progressively worst by turning black and tingling as well as itchy. My doctor prescribed hydrocortisone and I used it for 2 weeks several times a day but still no relief. My bottom lip is getting darker day by day. The Eucerin cream helps to relieve the tingling but the color stays the same.

H!!You seem to have developed inflammation of your lips. The common causes I have encountered in my practice are allergic due to lipsticks and mouthwashes, due to eczema like atopic dermatitis, excessive sun exposure or harsh environmental conditions like freezing cold or hot dry winds. You should use high potency steroid like momatasone on the lips twice daily as hydrocortisone is not effective in you. Besides this use a good moisturizer like eucerin and also add high spf sunsreen during the day time. Try to find out the cause and avoid it.
