What Causes Tightness In The Chest With Labored Breathing?

I have tightness in left chest muscle and I have labored breathing which has been going on for quite a while (tightness in chest over a year and breathing difficulty about 2.5 months). I also have weakness and tingling in my right arm and hand. I have been checked a couple times with EKG (last one being about a week ago) and even a heart stress test (Febuary 2015) and all have come back good. I lose my breath easy and get bouts of dizziness every day. No one can figure out what is wrong with me and I am going to do a echo-cardiogram tomorrow.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Bouts of shortness of breath and chest pain, while all the tests and examinations come out normal, maybe due to anxiety. In this case, patients may get tingling and numbness and may feel dizzy as well.

You may need to talk with your doctor on the possibility of anxiety as the cause of your symptoms and the needed treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
