What Causes Tightness Around Throat And Decreased Saliva Production?
I have been experiencing tightness around my throat that brings about difficulty in getting enough saliva in my mouth to swallow as well as pressure around my ears. I was given an antibiotic Amox TR0K CLV which I have been taking for several days, and the problem still exist. The doctor said my lymph nodes were swollen. Please help.
Hi. Thanks for your query. The causes of feeling tightness around the throat and decreased salivary production, pressure around the eyes and swollen lymph nodes can be: -Due to infection of the upper respiratory tract, the glands of salivary production get inflamed and can not produce sufficient saliva as needed. This in turn cause dryness in the throat to get a feeling of tightness around the throat, secondary inflammation of the neck lymph nodes and so on.
I would suggest you the following in such a case: - Get an opinion of an ENT Surgeon for clinical evaluation, examination and get investigations done to start another treatment of antibiotic, anti-inflammatory medicines, and symptomatic, supportive medicines.
This will help you to get a proper cure.
