What Causes Throat Pain With Blood In Vomiting And Nasal Mucus?

I just vomited and in the action of doing so I choked on it and the vomit that came up afterward had blood in it. It looked like it was bloody mucous/saliva on top of the vomit. The vomit before and after it did not have any in it and it wasn t a copious amount. I am unsure if it was from the violent reaction of coking it back up that ruptured a vessel or what. Blowing my nose afterward showed blood in it and after continuing to dry-heave and spit the saliva became less pink tinged until there was just clear saliva. I have pain in my throat. I am very concerned, please help.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

The symptoms seem to be related to a ruptured vessel in the throat.
I suggest to gargle with salty water.
I also suggest using a throat spray for antibacterial properties.
Gargling with salty water can also be helpful.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
