What Causes Throat Irritation While Having Esophagitis And Dysphagia?

I have had bronchitis and due to stress at home a much worse problem with acid reflux. The bronchitis started on December 9th, but I am still having a lot of chest pain when I talk, or breathe. The doctor that diagnosed the bronchitis also wanted me to go to a GI doctor and have my esophagus checked. I was also diagnosed with esophagitis and dysphagia at that time. I am not coughing as much, but still have a problem with it at night in particular. I still feel like food is not getting all the way to my stomach when I eat. I am also having trouble with my throat feeling like it is closing about halfway much of the time which also makes it hard to breathe.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you are suffering from Reflux Esophagitis secondary to acid reflux and due to injury to the lining of esophagus and throat with acid there is inflammation, swelling and pain during swallowing and feeling of closing up of throat..
The acid reflux is more at night due to lying posture that eases the flow of acid upwards..
You will have to start taking Proton pump inhibitors like Omeprazole or Pantoprazole..
Take antacids like Calcium carbonate or Milk of Magnesia..
Avoid spicy and heavy meals..
Take a light diet and drink plenty of water..
Take small frequent meals every 2 hours..
Do moderate workout..
Take short walk after meals..
In case if you are obese try to loose weight..
Sleep with head slightly raised as compared to feet and recline in left lateral position..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
