What Causes Throat Irritation And Yellowness On The Tongue?
After my daughter complained that it felt like a knife in her throat when she swallowed, I took a look and was disturbed by the tissue that I saw. It was below her uvula and tonsils - in the throat and could only be seen on occasion when her tongue was well compressed. It was yellow and looked like it was not attached (at least the very top part that I could see) to neither the front nor back of her throat. I know this sounds odd, but it looked like the tip of a tongue. She has been battling some pretty real allergies for about three weeks. Any thoughts?
Possibilities are post nasal drip (in view of allergy),enlarged lingual tonsils, enlarged taste buds etc.As there is pain while swallowing recommendation is to consult your ent doctor to have a look inside your throat.Mean while start on warm saline gargles.
