What Causes The Sutures To Be Yellow Post Wisdom Tooth Extraction?
I got 2 of my wisdom teeth out on Monday. I ve been eating soft food like ice cream and mashed potatoes and only drinking juice and water. Today I was able to open my mouth all the way for the first time and I checked my stitches. They look yellow and brown but they don t hurt. Is it infected?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern... No sutures turning to be yellow post wisdom tooth extraction is not the cause for concern. It is due to action of bacteria normally present in mouth, which turns the colour of sutures. There might be some food lodgement also which may give yellow colour to sutures. These does not indicate infection if pain & swelling are absence. Maintain hygiene by use of toothbrush & mouthwash. Warm saline gargles is advised after 24 hours of extraction. Consult your dentist for removal of these sutures at right time.
Refer to your dentist Don't worry you would be fine Hope this information helps
