What Causes The Number Of Days Between The Periods To Get Longer?

My period is over a week latell and I am NOT pregnant, my husband had a vasectomy 3 years ago. I have always been on time with my menstrual cycle, almost a 28 day cycle like clockwork since I was a teen. But looking back now I have noticed that my cycle has become a bit longer between periods, it went from 28 days in October to 30 days in November and then 35 days in December and as of today February 4th it hasn t come. I am 36 years and 4 months of age. What could be the cause of something like this.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think your period is getting irregular due to emotional stress or weight changes.

This causes fluctuations of hormones causing this delay. Taking contraceptives can help to make them regular.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
