Hello, Thank you for your query. The egg white consistency of the cervical mucus is due to the effect of increased estrogen levels. This and watery consistency of the mucus are considered fertile (favorable to sperm). As you have been trying for a year, I recommend : -an OBGYN consult -ultrasound of the pelvis to see if all if ok -if you have regular cycles, monitor basal body temperature to check for ovulation and length of luteal phase. -semen analysis for your husband (he should quit smoking & alcohol, if he does so) -Have intercourse every other day in the middle third of your cycle (if it is 30 day cycle, have intercourse between day 10and 20) As for not having the egg white mucus, it could be due to hormonal changes or normal physiological changes. If you do observe it to be watery, that s good enough too. Sometimes, discharge will remain near cervix and not seen outside or will be washed away after you use the restroom. Don t worry too much about it. You are young and if your cycles are regular, a healthy sperm and regular intercourse should be enough.
