What Causes The Feeling Of Something Stuck In The Throat?

This morning I woke with the feeling something was stuck in my throat. I am able to swallow and breath without difficulty however, the feeling has remained all day. I am unable to clear it. No pain but discomfort as I swallow. Thank you for your assistance.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It is possible that there may be a minor injury to the throat from food that you may have used previously or you may be experiencing reflux.

It is not likely that food is still present in the throat since you can swallow normally. The use of cool/cold foods or drink along with anti-inflammatory medication such as Naproxen or Cataflam or Ibuprofen- may help improve your symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James,
