What Causes The Feeling Of Food Stuck In The Throat?
I accidentally ingested a cacti spine when eating the fruit. It s stuck in my throat. If I cough enough I feel as if I want to vomit up something stuck in my throat. If I don t cough I don t feel it as much unless I swallow. It doesn t hurt but slight discomfort. What should I do? I drank liquids, ate a banana and ice cream. Still there.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of feeling of food stuck in the throat which seems to be acting acting as foreign body there and causes accumulation of bacteria and debris and giving you sharp sensation and pinched type feel. It can cause small abrasion in food pipe as well. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to
- Do warm saline gargles to reduce the inflammation.
- Eat soft food or liquid diet.
If there is only abrasions then your symptom will resolve in 24 hours and if you are having any foreign body in throat then your problem keeps on persisting and visit ENT specialist immediately. Go for fibro-optic scan and with the help of fiberoptic tip get that foreign object removed which is causing problem .
