What Causes Tenderness Under The Right Breast And Breathing Difficulty After An Injury?

Hi there .I fell off my bike on Saturday and hit a low brick wall very hard. It winded me and now my rib/s just under my right breast are very tender. It hurts when breathing, coughing, moving and I struggle to get in and out of bed. It doesn t feel broken though. I am taking ibuprofen which helps a little bit doesn t relieve all pain. Since the accident and hunching over a bit because of discomfort, I am also severely bloated!!! Why am I bloated? Is it compensation?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Tenderness in breast and pain during coughing, breathing or moving are due to trauma caused during the fall.
I suggest you consult your primary healthcare provider for clinical assessment and X-ray chest to rule out the possibility of fractured ribs.
Bloating could be due to soft tissue injury during fall.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
