Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, am having tenderness on ball of my left foot right below my 4th toe. Hurts when I walk without shoes so wear my tennis shoes at all times...Started about two weeks ago had been walking on treadmill daily when it started doesn t hurt if I rub it however if I bump it or move it a certain way there is pain and tenderness. I have iced it but hasn t helped any suggestions?
The possibilities are: * Corn that has enlarged from within, deep to cause tenderness and pain * Possible infection in the cornified tissues * Viral wart * Enlarged bone underneath, although this is common at great toe base
Consult a General Surgeon to see for the cause clinically, which will give a proper diagnosis and hence a plan. If viral wart then local application of burn causing solution slowly will help to avoid surgery. If infection underneath then a course of an antibiotic, anti-inflammatory like Ibuprofen. If not then surgery is the best possible treatment.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
