What Causes Tender Skin And Peel Off On Rubbing?

Hi! I am 68 years old and for the past year I have had a problem with my left elbow. The skin starts to get sore and I rub on it and find that the whole layer of skins is coming off like a large blister. The skin underneath is very tender and almost like it has been burned. What is causing this.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

There are different blistering diseases that can occur. Some of these are bullous pemphigoid, pemphigus, friction blisters, herpes, erythema multiforme.

Based on your description it may be bullous pemphigoid. If this is confirmed by your dermatologist , treatment can be initiated.
This normally consists of anti inflammatory pain medication.

I hope this helps
