What Causes Temporary Black Vision In A Child?

I have a 5 year old daughter (will be six in 2 months) and she keeps complaining about her vision. She says her eyes slowly go black, then she can t see anything for 5-10 seconds and then her vision slowly appears again. It doesn t happen when she stands (for instance if she were dizzy), it happens anytime. Last night it happened after she had been lying in bed for 10 minutes. I m wondering if this is something she should see an ophthalmologist for, or if this is more a neurological problem. Thanks!
