What Causes Tailbone Pain, Buttock Throbbing Ache With Buttock And Leg Numbness?

Hi I have had tailbone pain off and on for a few years, but the last two weeks have a deep in the right buttock throbbing ache. The only relief I have is standing. When sitting tailbone hurts and cannot sit on right buttock and laying down only in fetal position on right side for short period of time. Also, the last 4 days the inside of my buttock and down inside of my right leg have become somewhat numb. I do have an appointment with my arthritic doctor this week because he does believe I have psoriatic arthritis, but should I have this looked at sooner because of the numbness?Sorry I wasted my time, I will just go to Dr. and pay my copay tks

i think you are having two conditions. First is tail bone pain due to coccydynia. This pain is due to inflammation of the coccyx. To relieve this pain you would need to follow these steps.
1,Hot water fomentation by sitting in the bath tub for half an hour daily.
2. Steroid injection in the tail bone.
3. Do not sit for long hours on the hard surface. If it is must than use a ring like cushion for sitting.
For hip pain I think it is due to nerve compression in the spine. It can be confirmed by MRI. If there is nerve compression present than treatment can be done accordingly.
